Case Study 8

Retirement bungalow with 90° bend mid-way
down the driveway

Suffolk.
Case Study No. 8

The Problem:
A retirement bungalow with 90° bend mid-way down the driveway did not have enough space to turn around outside the garage. A newly built, (neighbour’s) low-level boundary wall on the apex of the bend, made access matters worse. The need for reversing onto the road was made more difficult by the growing traffic flow and the increasing maturity of the homeowner, who relied on the car for independence and mobility.

The Solution:
The 3.6M (11’10”) diameter CPS Car Turntable provided the turn around facility desperately needed in the driveway. Positioned close to the garage door, it “cost effectively” solved the problem. The electro-hydraulic power driven turntable has in-car control for customer convenience. The miniature handheld transmitters feature an extra button to open and close the automated garage door. The dwarf wall now causes no problem as it can be seen when driving in and out forwards. The enhanced amenities, ease of use and ability to drive in and out of the property forwards immediately boosted its value by approximately double the cost of the installation and the value is still rising.
