Case Study 11

Case Study No. 11

A detached town centre home with elevated views and a side access to the rear courtyard for parking and the garage - Devon.

The Problem: To gain vehicular access to the rear courtyard required carefully aligning the car between the house and boundary wall, driving up the slope and turning sharply into the small courtyard. To use the garage the car needed to be manoeuvred back and forth. To leave the garage without scratching the car was equally difficult, so the car was regularly street-parked or left just on site. It was not feasible to turnaround the vehicle within the boundaries of the property to comply with the current legal, safety and insurance requirements for vehicles to enter and leave the road in a forward direction.

The Solution:
The 3.5M (11’6”) diameter CPS car turntable with powered rotation and in-car control was sited centrally in the courtyard, directly in front of the garage door. This proved to be the complete answer. The delighted owners were pleasantly surprised when the house was recently valued and the valuer advised them that the turntable had already added double the installation cost to the value of their home proving it a very sound investment indeed.
